MILESTONES IN OUR HISTORY

BMC; founded the first foundry the first apprenticeship training center and manufactured the first diesel engine, the first turbo powered vehicle, the first domestic light commercial vehicle, the first environment friendly natural gas bus, the first fully low-floor bus and manufactured the first tactical armored wheeled vehicle. The most important motivation source of BMC's achievements, which broke new ground, is the goal of reaching the level of contemporary civilizations set by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the endless trust and responsibility it has for its country.

1966

Initial production began with TM Series trucks under the name of Leyland.

1975

A diesel engine was manufactured in Türkiye for the first time.

1996

First 100% national truck with intellectual and industrial property rights owned by a Turkish company.

1999

The production of military vehicles began.

2007

First natural gas powered eco-friendly bus was manufactured.

2009

The manufacturing of Mine Protected Armoured Vehicles began, bearing the name of

Production of the first domestic and national Tank Carrier Vehicle was started. Within 8 months 72 units were produced and delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces.

The first domestic and national engine prototype was started.

The TULGA family continued to grow with Türkiye's first domestic and national SUV model.

BMC became the first and only Turkish Land Vehicles manufacturer to be among the top 100 defense industry companies in the world.

BMC Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş is rapidly moving towards its renewed targets on the way of becoming a worldwide brand.

1973

Türkiye's first foundry was established within BMC's commercial body.

1976

The first Apprentice Training Center in the Aegean Region was established.

1998

BMC became the first Turkish commercial vehicle manufacturer to export its products to Europe.

2004

First lightweight commercial vehicle with intellectual and industrial property rights owned by a Turkish company,

The production began for the first 100% domestically manufactured, solo and articulated fully low-floor bus

The first domestic and national apron bus

2019

Serial production of the first domestic and national apron vehicle, NEOPORT has started. NEOCITY 8.5 m VIP has been produced.

Türkiye's first domestic and national pickup vehicle TULGA was introduced.

The number of new generation vehicles of BMC, the brand of firsts, has reached 107. Since its establishment, the total vehicle and engine production has exceeded 300.OOO.

2023

BMC, according to the data released by SSI (Defense and Aviation Industry Exporters Association), maintained that export leadership by realizing approximately 52% of the total exports among the Turkish Defense Industry Vehicle Manufacturers in 2023.
